Having followed a number of blogs over the last few years I decided it was time for me to voice my own views. Not because they are worth a whole lot, but because I have them.
That being said, some vita just as background.....I am married, the mother of three sons, stepmother of two sons and one daughter, grandmother of 14 (only two of which are girls) and great-grandmother of 1 beautiful little boy. I was raised in Idaho and Montana, went to college at Montana State University, and was educated in the school of hard knocks in various parts of these United States. I recently retired from a large aircraft manufacturing company.
Which brings me to my first frustration....RETIREMENT. It seems that since I retired I am suffering from acute brain damage. Opinions no longer seem to matter; suggestions seem to get set aside; and whatever plans I might have had become irrelevant. Not that it matters a great deal. I have loads of time to do whatever strikes my fancy. And that is the easy part. I spend lots of time with my grandchildren who do seem to respect my opinions, and when with me they are at my beck and call. Of course most of my beck is at McDonalds and my call is the toy department at Wal-Mart.
Seriously, tho, I never realized just how much I would miss taking part in everyday business activity, or how important it was to me for my opinions to be heard and acted upon at work. I am exploring my options......could be I'll find something "useful" to do soon.
